He captioned the image by saying, ‘Please start indicating bathrooms in English at all eateries. Give up depending on our sense of style.’

A guy wearing a mundu was represented by a sign with a straight line dropping from the waist. While a lady wearing a saree was depicted by a sign with a diagonal red line.

The signs perplexed the social media users.

“Lost it when I saw Mars and Venus at a pub six years ago,” wrote one user.

“I do not see a problem with this,” penned the third user. It’s general knowledge that men and women dress differently. That’s right—the imagery is perplexing. Someone can use the wrong restroom. However, I find it amusing to compare saris and lungis.”

I do not see a problem with this. The fact that men and women have different dresses is common knowledge. The imagery is confusing, that is correct. Someone may mistake their assigned washrooms. But I do not mind the sari and lungi comparison.
