Domino’s is making its pizza delivery more convenient by no longer requiring a delivery address.

The addressless system is called Domino’s Pinpoint Delivery(Opens in a new window) and is based on using the Domino’s app. Customers simply drop a pin on a map in the app and the order will be delivered to that location. Domino’s says it means you can “get pizza pretty much anywhere.”

“Domino’s is proud to be the first quick-service restaurant brand in the US to deliver food to customers with the drop of a pin,” said Christopher Thomas-Moore, Domino’s senior vice president and chief digital officer.

Pinpoint Delivery works by using dynamically created hyperlocal pinpoints (opens in a new window), which replace the need for a specific address. Customers can continue to use the app after placing the order to view the driver’s GPS location, track the progress of an order, and view an estimated time or arrival. There’s also a visual cue that can be activated so the Domino’s driver knows who to deliver the pizza to when he arrives.

To use Pinpoint Delivery, customers must order online and pay in advance with a Domino’s credit, debit or gift card. The final location for order delivery may also change slightly, as hyperlocal points are usually located at known landmarks such as parks or beaches, assuming one is nearby.
